New Feature: Accounts
We’ve just launched a new feature that we are really excited about, and hope you will be too. We’re simply calling it “Accounts”.
So, what’s an Account?
An Account is a grouping of income and/or expense entries for tracking and reporting purposes. We have intentionally designed accounts to be flexible with such uses as differentiating between bank accounts, companies, individuals, or simply personal and business entries.
How Accounts work

Each cash flow view and reports page now displays this convenient Accounts box where you can quickly turn accounts on and off for quick comparisons.

Quickly add an account from the add income/expense screens.

Each account is color coded for easy recognition.
Example uses for Accounts
As mentioned above, we have really worked to make Accounts as flexible as possible, and we believe that they can be used in a number of ways. Some of those examples include:
- Financial Accounts. One of the top feature requests we get is for the ability to separate income and expense entries according to a bank register or account. With the Accounts feature, this is now possible for multiple bank accounts, lines of credit, credit cards, etc…
- Business & Personal Accounts. Pulse is great for freelancers to track their business’s cash flow. But it would also be great to compare personal versus business income or expenses. With the Accounts feature, freelancers can neatly organize their income and expense entries by “Business” or “Personal” for easy filing and comparison.
- Sales Forecasting & Tracking. Pulse is a great forecasting tool. With the Accounts feature, it’s even easier to organize your income and expenses. Some possible uses would be to create separate accounts for each sales person, or industry specific accounts. The options are limitless.
And more…
We’d love to hear what you think about this new feature and how you are using Accounts. Leave a comment, send us a tweet, or contact us with your thoughts and suggestions.
Alongside this feature, we’ve also added a new higher-level Premium plan for $49/month. With this change, the old premium accounts are now called “Plus” for the same $24/month. For a complete chart of all the plans, please visit our pricing page.
